A longer walk across everyday Athens, from the Kypseli Municipal Market, completed in 1935, through the Pedion tou Areos park and past the National Archaeological Museum to the glass-and-iron Varvakios Central Market. Pass the tiny Byzantine church of Kapnikarea into the flea-market streets of Monastiraki and the Ottoman-era Tzistarakis Mosque, then finish at Technopolis, the old gasworks turned cultural venue in Gazi.
