Guided Tours is built on openly licensed data. Every tour — and every city and place page on this site — draws on the sources below, and the same credits appear alongside the stops and photos they belong to.

OpenStreetMap

Place locations, categories, and opening hours come from OpenStreetMap, used under the Open Database License (ODbL).

Place pages also show a small map of where each place is. That map is OpenStreetMap’s own standard map tiles, served directly by the OpenStreetMap Foundation; its cartography is © OpenStreetMap contributors under CC BY-SA 2.0, and the tile servers are used within the Foundation’s tile usage policy.

Wikidata

Structured facts — dates, people, events, and the relationships between them — come from Wikidata, released into the public domain under CC0 1.0. Attribution is not legally required, and is given here anyway.

Wikipedia

Descriptive and historical context is drawn from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. Wikipedia is used as a grounding source for narration rather than reproduced verbatim; the specific articles behind each stop are recorded in that stop’s source trail and shown in the app, and the same adapted, source-grounded text is what you see on each place’s page on this site.

Wikimedia Commons

Photographs — including every photo on this site’s city and place pages — come from Wikimedia Commons. Licences there vary file by file — CC0, CC BY, CC BY-SA, and public domain are all represented — so the required credit line is stored and displayed per image, directly beneath the photo it belongs to.

DB-IP

This one is not a source behind any tour or place page — it powers a small piece of this website’s own analytics. To work out roughly which country a visit to this site came from, we use DB-IP’s Country Lite database, used under CC BY 4.0. The visitor’s IP address itself is not kept — see the privacy page for the full detail.

Corrections

If something in a tour is wrong, misattributed, or missing a credit it should have, please tell us. Accuracy is the whole point of this app, and a report is genuinely useful.
