A riverside walk west from the converted industrial site of LX Factory to MAAT, the museum of art, architecture and technology on the waterfront. Stop for custard tarts beside the Jerónimos Monastery, built as a royal burial place, and pass the monumental prow of the Padrão dos Descobrimentos before finishing at the Torre de Belém, the fortified tower that greeted ships on the Tagus.
