Hidden Gems

A longer walk north through the districts beyond the Ringstraße, beginning at the Josephinum, the former academy that trained army surgeons, and the Narrenturm, a five-storey circular tower built to house psychiatric patients. Climb the literary Strudlhofstiege, admire the Spittelau incinerator that Friedensreich Hundertwasser turned into a work of art, and end at Karl-Marx-Hof, the monumental housing estate of Red Vienna.
