Museu Futebol Clube do Porto, Porto
Museu Futebol Clube do Porto is the club’s museum, installed beneath the east stand of Estádio do Dragão. It was inaugurated on 28 September 2013, marking FC Porto’s 120th anniversary. Near the entrance, Valquíria Dragão greets you: Joana Vasconcelos created this work from club textiles and trophies.
Almost 8,000 square metres hold 27 themed sections, using interactive technology to follow matches, players, managers and titles across football and the club’s other sports. The dominant gallery brings together domestic football cups and seven international trophies. Seek out the ball used when Zé Maria scored Porto’s opening goal in European competition, Fernando Gomes’s Golden Boots, and the original Intercontinental Cup retained by the club after it won the final edition. The museum turns sporting memory into an immersive encounter.
