Plaža Sv. Jakov, Dubrovnik
Plaža Sv. Jakov is a pebbled beach tucked into a small, secluded cove beneath the Church of St James. It lies about 1 kilometre from Dubrovnik’s Old Town and takes its name from that church.
The church is dedicated to Jakov Zebedejev. From the shore, you have a spectacular view of Dubrovnik and the island of Lokrum, with open water and the city spread across the scene. Its setting beneath rocky ground, away from the busiest urban spaces, makes it a favourite bathing place for Dubrovnik residents.
The beach also offers nearly all the facilities expected at a contemporary seaside beach. What makes this stop memorable is the combination of a simple pebble shore, a tucked-away setting, and that broad view across the water toward the city and Lokrum.
