Park Kleparski, Kraków

Park Kleparski is a wooded, well-kept park wrapped around the restored Kleparski Fort. As you walk along its paths, the fort gives this patch of greenery an unusual focal point: it survives in a condition almost unchanged from its original form, and it is the only preserved fort of this type. The park is also known as Fort Kleparski, or the park by Kleparski Fort.

Its boundaries are Prądnicka Street, Kamienna Street, Juliusz Słowacki Avenue, and the railway freight station. You can reach it beside the Nowy Kleparz bus loop and the Dworzec Towarowy tram loop; the freight station and Montelupich Prison are nearby. The surrounding trees and maintained paths make the fort feel set within a compact urban park rather than isolated from the city.
