Muzeum Geologiczne WGGiOŚ AGH, Kraków

The Geological Museum WGGiOŚ AGH is a museum devoted to the Earth, operating within AGH’s Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection. It dates from 1920. Its permanent exhibitions take you through karst phenomena, the geology and natural resources of the Kraków region, Poland’s mineral resources, the geology of deposits, palaeontology, dynamic geology, regional geology of Poland, and the geology of the Kraków area.

That range connects processes shaping landscapes with the materials people extract from them and the fossils that preserve earlier life. The museum gives you a focused way to read Kraków through its ground: not only as a city above the surface, but as part of a geological region with its own resources, formations, and history.
