Most Rędziński is Wrocław’s A8 motorway cable-stayed crossing of the Oder and Rędzin Island. Designed under Professor Jan Biliszczuk and completed in 2011, it is carried by a 122-metre pylon and 160 cables. Its 512-metre central section makes it Poland’s longest cable-stayed bridge supported by one pylon.

Most Rędziński is the A8 motorway’s cable-stayed crossing of the Oder in Wrocław, carrying traffic around the city centre. Its lone pylon rises 122 metres, and 160 cables—25 kilometres of cable altogether—hold the reinforced-concrete structure. The crossing reaches across Rędzin Island as well as the river; the builders began calling it the Rędzin Bridge for that reason.

Professor Jan Biliszczuk led its design team, while Mostostal Warszawa and Acciona Infraestructuras built it. Work began under a contract signed on the twentieth of May 2008 and finished in August 2011. In May 2010, floodwater from the Oder inundated the construction site and delayed the project by more than a month, although the bridge itself was unharmed.

The public chose the familiar name in an August 2011 competition, giving it 55.38 percent of the vote. Traffic began using the bridge on the thirty-first of August 2011. Its cable-supported central section measures 512 metres, divided into two spans of 256 metres, making this Poland’s longest single-pylon cable-stayed bridge.
