Rektorat Zmartwychwstania Pańskiego, Kraków

This is the Church of the Resurrection, a Roman Catholic church on Łobzowska Street in Kraków’s Old Town. Its narrow frontage carries an arcade frieze and portal in Neo-Romanesque style—a nineteenth-century revival of Romanesque forms. The church rose between eighteen eighty-five and eighteen ninety-one, replacing Ludwik Lipiński’s tannery, to plans by Wandalin Beringer.

It also stands close to the former site of St Peter the Little, a church later demolished. In nineteen ten, six stained-glass windows commissioned from S. G.

Żeleński’s Kraków workshop were fitted here. Inside lies Father Paweł Smolikowski, honoured as Venerable Servant of God; he led the congregation as its superior general from eighteen ninety-five until nineteen oh five. The church is protected as an immovable heritage monument of the voivodeship.
