Guinness Storehouse, Dublin

Guinness Storehouse is a visitor attraction at St. James’s Gate Brewery, telling the story of Guinness through an immersive tour. Its defining feature is a glass atrium shaped like a pint, with seven floors arranged around it.

The ground floor introduces water, barley, hops and yeast, along with Arthur Guinness, the brewery’s founder. The building itself has an industrial past: constructed in 1902 as a fermentation plant, it continued in that role until 1988. Its Chicago School design made it Ireland’s first multi-storey steel-framed building.

Look to the base of the atrium for a copy of Arthur Guinness’s 9,000-year lease for the brewery site. The experience also covers brewing, transport, cooperage, advertising and sponsorship. At the seventh floor, the Gravity Bar combines a Dublin panorama with a pint of Guinness.
