Here is Główna Biblioteka Komunikacyjna, a transport-focused research library housed within the ministry building on Tytusa Chałubińskiego Street. Created in nineteen nineteen through the Ministry of Railways, it gathered publications and legal material concerning transport and communications. Its early railway collection included Polish, French, German, and Russian material salvaged from several former railway administrations.

The holdings also acquired archival records, including more than eighty volumes of railway-board minutes donated by Leopold Kronenberg, alongside historic plans, maps, and drawings. When the transport ministry was formed in nineteen thirty-two, the library’s remit broadened beyond railways to roads, waterways, and civil aviation. The war interrupted its work, but the library resumed in June nineteen forty-five. It received the formal standing of a scientific library in nineteen sixty-eight, and today serves the ministry while also belonging to Poland’s public scientific-library network.
