Ergo Arena, Sopot
Ergo Arena is an indoor venue for sport, concerts, and other large gatherings. Its unusual feature is that the boundary between Gdańsk and Sopot passes through the building. The arena opened in 2010 and can accommodate 11,409 people for sporting events, rising to 15,000 for concerts when standing areas are included.
That capacity makes it one of Poland’s largest indoor arenas. The floor can hold a banked athletics oval measuring 200 metres, with six lanes. Lady Gaga brought The Monster Ball Tour here on 26 November 2010, giving the venue its first major event.
Since then, the arena has hosted European and world championship competitions in volleyball, athletics, and handball. The name comes from Ergo Hestia, whose naming agreement now runs until 2030.
