At Litewska Street six, this is Slovakia’s embassy in Poland, an address where the country conducts its official business in Warsaw. The residence is a palace built for Prince Vasily Dolgorukov in eighteen ninety-nine, designed by Ludwik Panczakiewicz. Poland and Slovakia began diplomatic relations in nineteen thirty-nine.

When Czechoslovakia split apart, those ties resumed in nineteen ninety-three; the embassy took up its duties here in nineteen ninety-four. Its work includes political, consular, and commercial-economic sections, alongside defence and police attaché offices. Since twenty twenty-two, Andrea Elscheková Matisová has served as ambassador. A Slovak cultural institute elsewhere in Warsaw has operated since nineteen ninety-three, connecting the embassy’s official role with public cultural life.
