Begin at the Reina Sofía, Spain's national museum of twentieth-century art and home of Picasso's Guernica, then continue through the Royal Botanical Garden to the Prado's original Villanueva building and the Palacio de Villahermosa, home of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. Pass the Puerta de Alcalá and enter the Retiro to see the iron-and-glass Palacio de Cristal.
