Rondo ONZ is an M2 metro station beneath the roundabout named for the United Nations Organisation. Opened in twenty fifteen, it combines architecture by Andrzej M. Chołdzyński with Wojciech Fangor’s colourful station-name murals. Concrete columns shaped like chalices give the underground interior its distinctive character.

Rondo ONZ is an M2 metro station beneath the roundabout of the same name, along Prosta and Świętokrzyska streets. The site straddles Wola and Śródmieście, where the city’s dense business district meets a major transport junction. The roundabout takes its name from the United Nations Organisation, giving this everyday commute an international label.

The station welcomed passengers on the eighth of March twenty fifteen, with the inaugural central stretch of M2. Andrzej M. Chołdzyński designed it, Metroprojekt built it, and Wojciech Fangor created its graphic identity.

Fangor was a leading figure in Poland’s poster-art tradition, and his work turns a functional underground space into a vivid piece of public design. Along the walls beyond the tracks, the station name appears in Fangor’s colourful murals. The interior is otherwise held in shades of grey, with a long platform marked by concrete columns that flare like chalices. Beneath the bustle of the roundabout, this is a carefully composed passage through modern Warsaw.
