Państwowe Muzeum Archeologiczne is Warsaw’s archaeology museum in the former Royal Arsenal. It combines excavations and research publishing with a library of more than seventy-five thousand volumes. The museum also works with the University of Warsaw on an archaeological festival at Biskupin.

Państwowe Muzeum Archeologiczne is Warsaw’s State Museum of Archaeology, housed in the former Royal Arsenal. The museum began in nineteen twenty-three and has occupied this Arsenal since nineteen fifty-eight. Its work reaches far beyond these rooms: staff conduct digs across Poland, study what emerges, and publish research from their own projects and from other archaeological institutions.

A research library holds more than seventy-five thousand volumes, making this a scholarly workshop as well as a place for visitors. Since nineteen ninety-five, the museum and the University of Warsaw have jointly held an archaeological festival at Biskupin. The institution received a substantial modernisation in twenty fourteen, followed by further completed renovation in twenty twenty-three.
