Muzeum Nurkowania is Warsaw’s museum of diving, created through the Warsaw Diving Club. Its collection follows the development of underwater work through diving clothing, communications equipment, pumps, submarine models, and photography. Highlights include an early diving helmet and rare naval equipment from the Austro-Hungarian era.

Muzeum Nurkowania is a museum devoted to diving, tucked into the city at 88 Grzybowska Street. It began as an initiative of Karina Kowalska from the Warsaw Diving Club, opening in two thousand six. Its opening marked the club’s half-century anniversary, and the institution remains Poland’s sole museum of its kind.

The collection gathers about nine hundred pieces that trace both diving and underwater archaeology. Its earliest object is a diving helmet made in eighteen ninety-five. Among the equipment is a regulator once used by Austro-Hungarian naval divers, an exceptionally scarce survivor from that era.

Much of what you encounter came from the private holdings of club members, giving the museum a distinctly enthusiast-built character. Displays range across diving clothing, communications gear, pumps, underwater weapons, submarine models, and images made beneath the surface. There are also sections on divers from Poland and Slovenia, Yugoslavia, accidents, submarine rescues, and underwater photography. Altogether, this small museum makes the demanding work of professional divers feel immediate and tangible.
