Centrum Pieniądza NBP is the National Bank of Poland’s museum at Świętokrzyska eleven slash twenty-one. It opens a surprisingly tactile route into ideas that can otherwise feel abstract. The institution was formally inaugurated in April twenty sixteen and began receiving the public during Museum Night that May.

It honours Sławomir Skrzypek, the bank’s governor who conceived this educational venue and died in the Smolensk air disaster. The exhibition spreads across more than two thousand square metres, arranged as sixteen themed rooms. Its collection includes more than ten thousand objects alongside over two hundred forty multimedia features.

Among the encounters are a treasury holding a bar of gold, an armoured cash van, and rare Polish coins, including a denar issued under Bolesław Chrobry. Money here is not treated merely as something exchanged at a counter; the displays trace its long past, the rise of banks, and the workings of a central bank. They also unpack investing, payment technology, and the making of notes and coins. You leave with the sense that every small transaction belongs to a much larger human system.
