Centrum is an M1 Metro station beneath Plac Defilad, beside the Roman Dmowski Roundabout and near the Palace of Culture and Science. Its deep underground spaces combine platforms, tall columns, a retail gallery, and links toward Warsaw’s main rail stations.

Centrum is the M1 Metro station beneath Plac Defilad, beside the Roman Dmowski Roundabout. Here Marszałkowska meets Aleje Jerozolimskie, turning the station into a hinge between major routes through Warsaw. The Palace of Culture and Science rises nearby, while street-level passages link this area with Warszawa Śródmieście and, through it, Warszawa Centralna.

The station opened on the twenty-sixth of May, nineteen ninety-eight, and initially marked the end of the route arriving from Politechnika. A later extension carried M1 onward toward Ratusz. Below ground, Centrum reaches fifteen metres beneath street level, deeper than any other stop on this line.

Its arrangement is unusually spacious: two side platforms face tracks held between tall structural columns, and a retail gallery runs above them. The interior uses yellow and blue as its defining colours. This is also a practical underground thoroughfare, with shops and services woven into the journey.

Behind the station toward the north, track connections allow a disabled train to be moved clear, and another junction leads into the technical tunnel joining M1 with M2. Centrum makes the infrastructure of a capital feel close at hand.
