Trzebnica, Trzebnica

Two steam locomotives once handled a surprisingly busy service from here: ten to twelve pairs of passenger trains ran toward Wrocław, including postal ambulance trains. Trzebnica station is a key stop for the Wrocław urban area and belongs to the Lower Silesian agglomeration railway network. Its station building went up in 1886, with a restaurant, ticket office, and stationmaster’s office inside.

The old railway equipment still preserved here includes a turntable for turning locomotives and carriages, as well as a cast-iron water crane that filled steam-engine boilers. The line from Wrocław Psie Pole closed in 1990, and part of its track was subsequently stolen. Repair work began in January 2009, and railcar services to Wrocław Główny resumed that September.

In 2022, around 1,300 passengers used this station each day. If you are standing still on the platform or by the station frontage, take in the practical scale of the place: this is a historic rail terminus that remains part of everyday travel. Since 2010, Trzebnica’s local bus route A has linked the station with stops across the town.
